Bush with A Single Leaf, 2019

25.00 $

Each year I take note of how long the leaves stay clinging to their branches. This image was made in February of 2019 when friend and fellow photographer David Nieves and I were hiking on Panther Mountain in New York. I was surprised to find some bushes still had a few leaves on them. Surely, the leaves were completely lifeless. This reminded me of the Tom Waits song Last Leaf on the Tree, a sweetly melancholic song sung from the perspective of that last leaf.
